Resume Writing Business



A trained, certified resume writing business gathers all of your pertinent background information needed to write a complete story of your experience. This is gathered from targeted questions related to your particular field and career level. Your current resume is reviewed and clarified. Often times, there is very useful information on your current resume but it is not presented in an effective manner.

Once all the information is gathered, a writer will create and design your resume. Based on your career aspirations, they will decide on which format to use - functional, chronological or combination.

With my business, the writer then passes the first draft onto to the Client for review. The Client can then make any changes or corrections they deem necessary. This process will continue until the Client is satisfied with the final result. It is vital that the Client is confident in their resume.

You need a desire and ability to write. It also imperative you get certified by one of the top organizations out there. Certification is an assurance for the Clients that you know what you're doing! Joining industry organizations is a good step, as well.

You need a good word processing program (Word) and a computer that won't fail you.

Pricing largely varies in the industry. There are some that are very inexpensive but probably doesn't do very good work. Anyone can tout themselves as a resume writer. People have to be careful while searching for one. I use writers so I base my price off their vast number of years experience and overall talent.

Clients find us via search engines, mostly. I have also tried PPC and other monthly online advertising programs.

Think twice! This field is HIGHLY competitive. It takes a lot of work to stand out from the heavy hitters out there. Unless you are extremely motivated with a strong desire to write resumes, then I would consider another option. I didn't realize the difficulty I would have in making my business a success when I first started.
