Here are some things that you will need to keep in mind when you come up with the domain name for your affiliate marketing business:

It should be easy to remember. - Word of mouth is an excellent marketing tool for any website or business owner. A good portion of your site visitors will come from others who referred your site to them, so an easy to remember name is essential. If they can’t remember it, then they won’t refer anyone else to it.

It should be easy to say. – Again, this is for the word of mouth campaign. Some people refer others to websites while chatting on their phones or in person. The domain name will need to be easy to say. If it’s difficult to pronounce, then it’s not likely to get referred, because no one wants to try and pronounce it. You could also run into someone mispronouncing it and sending another person to someone else’s website.

Have keywords listed in it. – Having a keyword included within the domain name, you are making the search engines happy. Your websites can get higher ranks on the search results pages if you include the best keywords in your domain name.

Try to stick with the normal dot com- Everyone is used to the dot com websites. The others like .org, .net and .us could be used, but they’re not easily remembered by website visitors. Try to come up with one that has the dot com at the end.

Use internet tools to find similar domain names- More often than not, people have found the best domain names to use for their sites, but become disappointed when they find out that the name has been taken already. Don’t give up. You can use dashes in between the words or simply use one of the internet tools available to help you come up with similar domain names that aren’t currently being used.

Use 2-4 words within the domain and keep them as short as possible. Think of what your website is about and try to come up with a domain name that describes what the website is about. Try not to use more than four words in the domain name. Dashes and numbers like “4” are okay to use in between the words.

The better the domain name, the better your website will benefit from the visitors that come and return for future visits. If they’re satisfied with what they see, they will be more willing to refer their friends, family and chat members to come check out your site as well
